Regarding Renewal of DTP certifications —
General guidelines and some update information
Background Information:
 The "perks" of renewal include:
- maintaining professional credibility and practices
- presence in "Find a Class" listing on the DTP web site: location, phone, e-mail
- hyperlink to your web site, if you have one
- referrals for special projects in your area from the DTP consulting office
- research updates, news for instructors, exercise tips, on the DTP website
We have recently looked at the activity and positioning of the DTP website within the internet and are pleased to be able to report that the numbers tell us good things.
The site has a solid and increasing visitation rate -- 2/05: 18,000 hits, 3/05: 23,000 hits, and 4/05 is on track for 32,000 hits.
Visitors spend longer on our site than the internet average & often visit Find a Class
Over 700 related sites have chosen to hyperlink to our site.
Renewal Procedures:
Renew every 2 years by December 15--even years if certified in an even year; odd years if certified in an odd year.
You may renew at any time during the year and should do so now if you have not renewed for the last 2 years.
Method #1:
- 8 contact hours or 0.8 CEUs on a related topic or topics (examples: nutrition for women, another pre/postnatal certification, public health, core body strength, etc.)
- From: a major continuing education organization or a college/university course
- Fee: $35. Call or pay online with Visa or MC. Or, send send a check made out to DTP, Inc. AND copies of CEU certificates to:

Method #2:
- Attend one or two days of a seminar for updating. Receive certificate at the seminar. Go to Seminars & Certifications for more information.
- Register for a seminar by phone, through the mail, or online.
- Indicate "Renewal $35" on your registration. Pay by check, VISA or MC.
Method #3:
Take the correspondence course. Only available to those orginally certified prior to 2002 who have not previously used this method.
